I went to bed last wednesday at around midnight and read until about 2. Not really sleepy, but feeling I should at least make an effort to sleep, I shut off the light. After laying there another 30 min. and unable to stop thinking, much less actually sleep, I got up in a huff and headed out to the PC bong (room). They're open 24hours. All I wanted to do was start moving all my shit right then and there. You ever really want to sleep but your mind just won't calm down? That was me. I ended up going back home after a little while surfing and emailing around 3am. I think I finally fell into a restless sleep somewhere close to 4 and had to get up 3.5 hours later. I walked over to Matt and Nadiya's house close to 8 and soon we were busy lugging all their things down 5 flights of stairs. I was soon more than sweating and wishing we'd be done already. They definitely were the hardest with all their stuff and no elevator. The good news is that it turned out much easier getting the stuff into the new places than taking it out. We finished moving all 4 of us somewhere around 3pm. Then, we were off to have a little dinner/lunch and a meeting about our up-coming camp in August. The food was so good, cuz we were all pretty tired and the meeting went well. Meanwhile, all I could think about was getting back to my new actual real apartment and organizing. Not quite yet though. We still had to go and buy a few fans and other stuff for when Clinton comes. Keep in mind that this whole time we're all stinky and sweaty and nasty and none of us, at least westerners, had showered yet that day. I didn't end up getting home until after 6 and then had to set about cleaning everything and organizing all of my stuff. I looked around and realized I really have accumulated a lot of stuff for only 1 person in 7 months. Oh well. I do use everything. After a few hours on my hands and knees washing floors and moving everything into place, I finally laid down to attempt sleep. For someone so tired, physically and mentally, I still laid there unable to really sleep. I'm a light sleeper and all the new noises just kept distracting me. After a few days now, I'm getting more used to it, but still not quite normal yet. The next day I woke up and it was like my body was kicking me. Everything hurt, from my legs, to arms, to even my hands from scrubbing. Meanwhile 3 days later, I can still feel it, but it's subsiding little by little at least. My new place is cool though. I bought my first actual plant yesterday and it's starting to feel like home. I'm getting super excited for Clinton to get here too. Just a few more days and I'll have company.
I actually have a cell phone now too. Another teacher I know just left today for the states and I got her phone last Friday night. It's a nice one too; none of that cheap stuff for me. Course, I wouldn't have gotten one this nice myself except I got a really good price from her. Anyhow...the number is (011) 9691-2539. I don't have a land line yet, so that's it for now.
